I grew up in a rural area where 'green' was our way of life in our family but we never dreamed we'd be considered awesome for living that way. I learned early to cultivate beauty.... if something wasn't naturally attractive, to help it out a little.... which might be a new coat of paint, a decorative bow, or a hammer or chain.
I have a cube storage box (remember those plywood, metal edged storage boxes of the 80's) First it had a juvenile motif for my early years, then it grew up as I did and I decoupage it with teen colors, after marriage it went through another transformation. This time I put on fabric to match the throw pillows I made for my couch and is now used as a plant stand.
I love to find a sad & unloved throw-away & give it a face lift.... for the less amount of money the more exciting.
I love to bargain shop, combine items to make them more useful, repair anything that might still have some life left to it, save money, spend time creating, enjoy having useful, quality, things that has a piece of me tied into it be it indoor or out door decorations, making a taste' dish, or putting new life into any kind of hand-me-down.
I just spent over an hour working on my Atlanta trip post and I just lost all my work. I think I'm going to cry. I don't have time to spend another hour on it right now. Ahhhhhh!
